Dietetics education programs voluntarily apply to the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) for accreditation by submitting a self-study application, which shows that the program meets its goals and the ACEND Standards of Education. Any questions regarding this process can be directed to ACEND.

The Concordia College Department of Nutrition and Dietetics applied for full accreditation of a dietetic internship by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.) in January 2003. The program was granted accreditation for the maximum of 10 years. In 2013, the dietetic internship was re-accredited for the maximum of 10 years.
The program is designed to meet the practice requirements for a dietetic internship and the academic requirements to obtain a graduate degree. Graduates of the combined DI/MS program will be issued a verification statement, indicating that they have completed the ACEND requirements and will be eligible to apply to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration credentialing exam.
